Epson introduces the financial industry’s most reliable desktop cheque scanner

November 2012

Sydney, 29 November 2012: Epson Australia has introduced the financial industry’s most reliable desktop cheque scanner for banks and businesses that want to capture at the teller or point of sale.

Built on more than 20 years development and innovation of Epson’s award-winning imaging technology, the Epson TM-S1000 offers the highest MICR accuracy available plus the quality and reliability that Epson is known for in office, retail POS, commercial and industrial equipment.

The TM-S1000 comes in 30 DPM and 60 DPM versions and features clear electronic endorsement (logo, graphics or True Type Font can be placed anywhere on the scanned image), a double cheque detector that virtually eliminates double cheque feeding, and a built-in franker that prints a static message on cheques to prevent double processing.

It has two pocket support and a 100 sheet document feeder as standard features. This allows high volume processing and provides the flexibility to segregate and process different types of documents such as cheques and payment coupons.

Whether in a back office or at a busy teller station the TM-S1000 has been designed for easy maintenance with advanced self-diagnostics that keep the operator informed of the scanner status and with clear error messages. The cheque scanning process is simple and replacing the franking unit is quick and easy with no special training required.

With a MCBF of 2.47 million documents and 99.9% MICR accuracy the TM-S1000 has the reliability and performance needed to improve processing efficiency and reduce costs.

Epson is a driving force in the global payments industry and is a founding member of TWAIN, a member of the NACHA Electronic Check Council, the ECCHO Operations Committee, Global Concepts Payments Operations and Strategy Forum, and the Electronic Transaction Association.

The TM-S1000 has a one year standard warranty and is available from Epson Business System Distributors, System Integrators and System Terminal Partners.
