ReadyScan LED Technology, in contrast to those scanners utilising a Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp (CCFL) light system, exploits the enormous potential of advanced Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs). This ensures the Epson Perfection V30 delivers:
- Greater reliability: Generating significantly less heat than CCFL-based scanners, the Epson Perfection V30’s ReadyScan LED Technology places much less physical stress on the scanned items (particularly important in regard to old photographs) and the scanner itself.
- Improved performance: A major advantage resulting from the use of LEDs is that the Epson Perfection V30 is ready to use within one second of the unit being switched on.
- Energy efficiency: Due to low power consumption and barely one-second warm-up time, the Epson Perfection V30’s ReadyScan LED Technology is highly energy efficient.
- Environmentally responsible: Designed to minimise environmental impact, ReadyScan LED Technology does not use mercury, which is a core element in CCFLs.
