Epson scanners use the light sensitive capabilities of CCD (Charge–Coupled Device), which offers the distinct benefit of helping achieve image scans that exhibit high quality, reduced image noise and improved dynamic range. Epson, though, has taken CCD technology further, incorporating On–Chip Micro lenses with every CCD Chip. As a result, the Epson Perfection V30 can capture greater light volume for vastly superior image reproduction. In order to maintain high quality and high speed scanning, the Epson Perfection V30 has been designed with 12–rows of CCD and Micro Lenses.
