Fine detail, solid colour, subtle variations — they're only a few of the characteristics that photographers at all levels expect to see in their final prints. With advanced Epson Variable Sized Droplet Technology (VSDT), the Epson Stylus Photo R1900 delivers on each of those expectations automatically.
By taking full advantage of the level of control over ink that can only be achieved with the solid–state Epson Micro Piezo Print Head, VSDT is able to generate large droplets to print solid colour areas, and smaller droplets to render subtle tonal gradations and fine detail.
In total, the Stylus Photo R1900's VSDT capabilities enable the printer to generate three different droplet sizes down to a minimum of 1.5pl. Its ability to create these miniscule droplets — ultramicrodots — and place them on the paper with incredible accuracy that gives the Stylus Photo R1900 a distinct edge in delivering prints with fine detail and smooth gradation.
