Google Cloud Print - Setup


Google Cloud Print allows you to print on the go from your smart phone or tablet with Gmail for mobile, Google Docs for mobile and other supported apps. Plus, print from Chromebooks and the Google Chrome browser without drivers or cables. The application is compatible with Android Phones & tablets, Chromebooks and any other device that can send an email.


**Please Note:- Google is discontinuing support for Google Cloud PrintTM on 31 December 2020. For alternative printing options for your Chromebook, tablet or smart phone, please visit Epson Email Print or visit Epson Remote Print for more information.

Epson Printers Supported*

  • View the list of printers and then click on the model of printer for more details.

    *Not all models may be available in your country.

  • Before registering with Google Cloud Print, you must update your printer's firmware to the latest version.

Updating your Printer's Firmware

Windows OS (Select one of the update methods below)

  • Start menu. Click Start > All Programs > EPSON > EPSON xxxxx (your printer name), and then select Driver Update.
  • Taskbar - Right click the printer icon on the taskbar and select Driver Update.
  • Printer driver

    1.Select Start > Control Panel, and then View devices and printers. Then right click on the printer icon and select Printing preferences from the menu.

    2.Click Maintenance tab, and select Driver Update.

Mac OS X

  • Start Download Navigator and install the latest firmware where available.

  1. Make sure your printer has been added to your network. You can set up the printer's network connection using the included CD if you haven't already done so.
  2. Log in to your Google account. If you don't have a Google account, you will need to register an account with Google.
  3. Print a Network Config Sheet from your printer.
  4. Look up the printer's IP address on the Network Config Sheet.
  5. Enter the IP address in a web browser.
  6. Click on the Google Cloud Print icon in the Web browser
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions to register your printer with Google Cloud Print.

Print Settings
1.    Can I change the print options?
      Yes. Please select [Options] from the printer selection screen when you print from the application.

You can change the following print settings.

- Number of copies (<-link to 1-2-2)

      Yes. Click [Options], and then select from [Copies]

      No. You can't print multiple pages on 1 sheet.

      For the printers which have automatic duplex print functionality, yes. Click [Options], and then select [2-sided printing]

Note that you can print double-sided documents with A4 and Letter size plain paper.

6.    Can I select the paper size?
      Yes. Click [Options], and then select [Paper Size]
When the selected paper size and the application page size are different, then the printer will print out with the
application's page size. If you would like to print with the selected paper size, please select [Auto Fit Page]

7.    Can I select the paper type?
      Yes. Click [Options], and then select from the [Paper Type] menu

      Yes. Click [Options], and then select from the [Paper Source] menu
The selected paper source may be changed depend on the paper size and type selection.
The paper source(s) may be different on some printers. Please refer to the printer's user manual for details.

9.    Can I print borderless photos?
      Yes. Click [Options], and then select [Borderless]
The image may be cropped as the printer will print the image to fit the selected paper size.
Please note that some printers may not support borderless printing. Please refer to the printer's user manual for details.
Also, the photos may be printed with border even when select [Borderless] depend on the paper size and type selection.

10.  Can I fit my print out to the selected paper size?
      Yes. Click [Options], [Paper Size], and then select [Auto Fit Page] The print out is automatically reduced or enlarged to fit the selected paper size.
The image may be cropped as the data will be reduced or enlarged while keeping the image's aspect ratio. (The base point is the center of the paper)

11.  Can I select the orientation of the print?
      Yes. Click [Options], and then select from the [Orientation] menu

      Yes. Please use the printer's button to cancel the current print job. Please refer to your printer's user's guide for details.
If the print job has not started, you can delete the print job from the Google's printer/job status and management UI.

Register Printer
1.    How do I register my printer with Google Cloud Print?
      To register your printer with Google Cloud Print:
1. Make sure your printer has been added to your network. Please setup the printer's network connection using the printers software disc, if it has not already been completed.
2. Log in to your Google account.[If you don't have a Google account, one needs to be created]
3. Go to the Printer web interface using an internet browser.
4. Follow the on screen instructions to register your printer with Google Cloud Print

      A registration confirmation sheet will be printed out after successful registration. You can also check the registration status from the Google Cloud Print website.

3.    How do I register a printer to Google Cloud Print from a Windows PC?
      1. Select [Start] > [All programs] > [EPSON Software], and then click [Download Navigator]

2. Choose [EPSON Printer Finder] from the [Download Navigator] and then start installing these programs. Please wait until the firmware update has been completed the [EPSON Printer Finder] will then start automatically.]

3. Select the printer you would like to register from the list and click [Open Setup Page] from the Printer Status page.]

The Printer Status page will then be shown in a web browser window.]

4. Click [Google Cloud Print Setup] and follow the instructions displayed on the screen to register the printer.]

Nothing is shown in the [Download Navigator] When your printer has the latest firmware and the latest [EPSON Printer Finder] already installed. Please close this screen and then start up [EPSON Printer Finder] manually following this procedure.]

4.    How do I register a printer to Google Cloud Print from a Mac OS X computer?
      1. Install [Download Navigator] using one of the following methods:
- Install from the printers software disc
- Download from the Epson website

2. Select [Macintosh HD] > [Application] > [Epson Software], and double-click on the [Download Navigator] icon to start Download Navigator

3. Choose [EPSON Printer Finder] from the [Download Navigator] and then start installing these programs. ([Firmware Updater] will be automatically selected when selecting [EPSON Printer Finder])

4. Double-click [Epson Firmware Updater] from [Finder] to update printer firmware.

5. Select [Macintosh HD] > [Application] > [Epson Software], and double-click on the [EPSON Printer Finder] icon to start EPSON Printer Finder

6. Select the printer you would like to register from the list and click [Open Setup Page] from the Printer Status page.

The Printer Status page will be shown in a web browser window.
7. Click [Google Cloud Print Setup] and follow the instructions displayed on the screen to register the printer

1. Print a Network Status Sheet For an Inkjet multifunction printer, enter Setup mode, select [Wi-Fi/Network Settings] > [Confirm Wi-Fi/Network Settings], and then press [Start].. Please refer to your printer's Network Guide for details
2. Check [Configuration URL] at [Google Cloud Print] section on the printed Network Status Sheet
3. Open a web browser and enter the URL shown on the Network Status Sheet

- Enter the IP address of the printer
1. Confirm the printer's IP address using one of the following.
- Check the printer's network information using printer's UI. (Supported printer only)
- Print out a Network Status Sheet
- Print out a Network Check Report

2. Start a web browser and enter the IP address confirmed in the previous step.    Example: http://192.168.100.201/

3. Click [Google Cloud Print Setup] and follow the instructions displayed on the screen to register printer

8.    How do I update the printers firmware using a Windows PC?
      You can update the firmware using one of the methods below.

- Update from Start menu
Click [Start] > [All programs] > [EPSON] > [EPSON xxxxx (your printer name)], and then select [Driver Update]

- Update from Taskbar
Right click the printer icon on the taskbar and select [Driver Update] - Update from the printer driver
1. Display your printer's driver
(e.g. Windows7)
Select [Start] > [Control Panel], and then [View devices and printers]. Then right click on the printer icon and select [Printing preferences] from the menu.
2. Click [Maintenance] tab, and select [Driver Update]

Please confirm that the firmware has been successfully updated on the printers LCD screen.

      Yes. You can set the Proxy server and DNS server settings from the Printer Web interface using a web browser.

Remove Printer
1.    How can I delete my printer from Google Cloud Print
      You can delete the printer from the Printer Web Interface using a web browser window
1. Display Printer Web Interface using a web browser window
2. Click [Google Cloud Print Setup]
3. Click [Delete]
Please follow the instructions displayed on the screen

You can also delete your printer from Google's printer/job status and management UI. Please restart your printer power when using this method.

2.    I can't find the registered printer (1)
      Please restart your printer and register your printer from Printer Web interface.

3.    I can't find the registered printer (2)
      Delete the Google Cloud Print setup information in your printer by resetting the printer's network settings. Then start setup again beginning with the printer's network settings.

4.    I Can't delete the registered printer
      Please confirm if the printer is correctly connect to the internet and delete the printer from the Printer Web interface using a web browser

When you can't delete the printer from the Printer Web interface, then please reset the printer's network settings from printer's control panel. In this case, the printer will still appear on Google Cloud Print, however you can't use Google Cloud Print with that printer. So please also delete the printer from Google's printer/job status and management UI.

XMPP may be stopped due to an HTTPS connection error. Please check the HTTPS Status.
DNS Server Not Found:
Can't access to the DNS server. Please check that the internet connection properly connected, or the printer DNS server is correctly set.
Domain Name Not Resolved:
Can't resolve the domain name through DNS. Please contact your network administrator.
Proxy Server Not Found:
Can't access to Proxy server. Please confirm if the Proxy server is properly set up.
Rejected by Proxy Server:
Failed to communicate with the Proxy server. Please confirm if the XMPP(5222) port is not blocked. XMPP Server Not Found:

Google Cloud Print service or internet connection are temporally not available.
Server Error:
Google Cloud Print service temporally not available.

      Generally no changes to the settings are needed if you intend to use Google Cloud Print from home.
In the corporate LAN environment, please confirm that the XMPP (5222) port has not been blocked.

      You can check the connection status with one of the following ways.

-Printer Status page
The connection status appeared under the [Google Cloud Print Setup] description.
 Registered: Registered to Google Cloud Print
Connected
Disconnected
Suspended
 Not registered: Has not registered to Google Cloud Print
 Error: Error occurred due to the old printer firmware. Please update the firmware to the latest version.

-Network Status Sheet
Can confirm the status in [Google Cloud Print] at the Google Cloud Print section
  Enable: Registered
  Disable: Not registered
  Suspended: Suspended
The connection status appeared in XMPP status and HTTP status

Suspend and Resume Google Cloud Print
1.    How do I temporary suspend the Google Cloud Print service?
      Yes. To suspend Google Cloud Print by click [Suspend] on the Printer Web interface.
The print job will be queued on the Google Cloud Print server when the service has been suspended and the job will be printed when the service resumed.
Please be aware that the queued job may be deleted automatically after the expiration period.
