Recognising that the earth's carrying capacity is limited and believing that everyone must share responsibility for reducing environmental impacts equally, Epson takes an active role in driving environmental initiatives to achieve continual improvement.
Reducing Emissions
Epson's approach to mitigate global warming revolves around reducing carbon emissions by conserving energy and using low carbon energy.
On-site Renewable Energy
Epson Australia warehouse in Yennora (NSW) has installed a solar
power generation system. It can supply approximately 148 MWh of
electricity a year – an amount used by about 26 average
households in Sydney.
Certified Renewable Electricity
In line with our goal of transitioning to 100% renewable
electricity at all Epson sites by 2023, Epson
offices in Australia and New Zealand have switched to low-carbon
electricity purchased under electricity tracking and certification
frameworks – GreenPower (Australia) and NZECS (New Zealand).

Closing the Resource Loop
We manage our business with a closed resource loop and circular economy in mind. From the materials we use to manufacturing and distribution, we're constantly looking to lengthen product life cycles through repair, refurbishment, recycling and reuse.
Repair
- User replaceable parts for many products
- CoverPlus – extended service plans offered in addition to warranty
Refurbished and Reduced Items
To give products a chance at both their first and second life while reducing waste, we offer a diverse range of refurbished, carton-damaged and near end-of-life consumables.
- Quality refurbished products come with six months warranty. (Available in Australia only)
- Carton damaged products come with standard product warranty.
Recycling
To fight waste and promote the development of a circular economy, Epson
takes responsibility for end-of-life hardware and consumables such as
cartridges and projector lamps.

ISO 9001 and 14001 standards
As part of our environmental strategy, Epson Australia aims to improve the environmental impact of our internal operations by reducing energy use, waste to landfill and carbon emissions. Epson head office and its distribution centre in Sydney are certified with ISO9001 and ISO14001 – the quality and environmental management international standards.

Epson Australia is also a member of several associations which demonstrate our commitment towards sustainability and support for the collaborative relationships to drive progress in the industry.

Epson Australia is proud to be a Bronze Partner of Sustainability Advantage, a program of the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water. We are committed to further strengthening our sustainability performance through collaboration with the Department.

Epson proudly partners with Cartridges 4 Planet Ark, recycling over 6 million Epson printer cartridges. This program empowers both Epson consumers and business customers to divert challenging-to-recycle waste away from landfills, with a 100% guaranteed.
APCO
Epson Australia is a signatory to the Australian Packaging Covenant. We have put together an action plan that goes a long way towards assisting the Covenant achieve its national goals.
CitySwitch
Epson Australia is a signatory to CitySwitch – a national Green Office program that will validate our efforts in improving our energy consumption, reducing waste and minimising carbon emissions. CitySwitch provides a key resource in implementing our sustainability principles throughout our offices in Australia.
