Introducing the A3+, six-colour photo- reproduction quality inkjet printer for graphic artists and professional photographers. The Epson Stylus Photo 1200 delivers 1440dpi, full-bleed A3 prints with ink droplets invisible to the naked eye.
Variable-Sized Droplet technology
The Epson STYLUS PHOTO 1200 features Epson's Variable-Sized Droplet technology. Variable-Sized Droplet technology delivers a combination of small, medium and large ink droplets to give the final output greater detail and smoother halftones.
The STYLUS PHOTO 1200 works as an artist would, using large ink dots for solid colours and smaller-sized dots for blends and gradations. This makes colour accuracy and shade clarity high. In addition, print speeds are not compromised even with the superior print quality.
The smallest droplet - the 6 picolitre dot - is called the Epson's Ultra Micro Dot. Six-picolitre dots are produced using six colours rather than four - cyan, light cyan, magenta, light magenta, yellow and black. The dots are invisible to the naked eye which guarantees high image quality photographic prints.
The combination of Epson's Variable-sized Droplet Technology with Ultra Micro Dots is an enhancement to Epson's Micro Piezo printhead technology - part of the Epson PerfectPicture Imaging System.
Compatibility
The STYLUS PHOTO 1200 supports Windows 95, 98, NT 4.0, Mac® OS 8.1 to 9.X. It includes parallel, Mac, serial and USB (Universal Serial Bus) interfaces.
Versatile paper handling
The STYLUS PHOTO 1200 can handle paper sizes from 4 x 6" to A3+ (329 x 483mm). This gives customers the flexibility to print a range of sizes, from banners to panoramic photographs.
Image enhancement
The printer driver features Epson's PhotoEnhance 3 software that can sharpen images and improve colour. Low-resolution images can be downloaded from the Internet and adjusted using this software. Also included is an image correction function that can remove colour artefacts and other 'noise' from digital camera images.
In addition, the printer driver has an Object Sampling function that distinguishes and evaluates important objects on a page and defines the optimum settings. It does this for single or multiple images on a page. If you want to achieve special effects, you can override the function and fine-tune the images manually.
