Epson Perfection V39 - Great scanner
I have been using the Epson scanner a couple of weeks now. It is very light, great size for a small desk; it was very easy to install. Scanning quality for photos is terrific; documents also. Scanning quality, colour, dpi, etc. can be easily adjusted. I am very happy with this scanner. Great value.

The scanned images are crystal clear and the colour is exactly the same as the scanned item which is important.
The V39 is easy to use and without complicated procedures. The most important feature of a scanner is to reproduce the detail and colour of the scanned item and the V39 results are excellent

Mixed Bag for Mac users
There's no doubt about the outstanding quality of scanning capabilities of the V39. Top marks.
Love the fact that this scanner doesn't need 240V power adapter and simply runs from USB power source. Very convenient.
As a Mac user, I would love to see some more compatible software to let me enjoy all of the features of the software available for Windows platforms, rather than use the scanner via Twain connection, which is successful but unable to tap into all the software features.
Also, when scanning at 4800dpi, I never realised the scan marquee size is extremely limited in dimension. No way can you scan a 150x100mm photo at 4800dpi. Smaller dimensions yes.
All in all a fabulous quality easy to use scanner with high quality results.
