Does the job, but slightly noisy and no on/off
This scanner replaces a V33 that recently died.
The V39 is slightly noisier when scanning than the V33, but does an equally good job of scanning.
One advantage is it is USB-powered, so requires no plug-pack.
But the disadvantage is it has no on/off switch, so I need to unplug the USB cable to conserve power and components degradation.

Has an annoying habit of disconnecting itself for no apparent reason
The scanner often disconnects itself. Only restarting the computer reconnects it (it's plugged in the whole time)

Always a problem
Used with a MacBook Pro.
Purchased this as I thought it would be good quality and reliable.
The quality is average.
Always a problem to connect and scan.
Looses power when it goes to sleep and the MacBook cannot find it. I have to restart the MacBook book every time, ensuring the scanner is connected, before I can scan.
I wish I'd returned it to the shop the day after I purchased, it. I still might.
Not worth the money, should have purchased a multifunction printer for half the price of this scanner.
