The features that is on this scanner is execilent
As I am doing a lot with family history, this scanner has more than enough features to reproduce clear and precise pictures from old negatives and with the extra features to remove old blemishes and restore them to their original state. Some of the negatives are over a hundred years old and taken on old box cameras that did not have good lighting and features that the cameras have today. It is great to have precise and clear pictures.

Good flatbed copier, lacks a little in film scanning.
The Perfection 1650 pro Photo performed better in film scanning, also scanning 4 x 5 film with the attachment. Unfortunately this scanner is not supported in win 7 x64.
The film holders are a little flimsy in construction, otherwise it is a very good scanner worth the price.
It would be good to see a dedicated film scanner with a gamma of 3+ using a good lens or two. It is difficult to produce a good scan with the full gamma curve represented, without loss of the toe or shoulder and compression of contrast in mid tones.

Pretty Good
This site has asked for a review during the set up process. All I can say at present is that it has been easy to set up so far. Next I'll test the product.

The photo reproduction quality is excellent. Another one of Terry Lane's recommendations I am in agreement with
The V600 was bought mainly for photos but I have used it for scanning documents and hand written letters. The detail is superb and colour rendition excellent. Some of the old family photos look better on the Macbook screen than the original.
Although it is a bit slow in hi-res the quality is worth it.
I also have Epson data projector and printer and have been happy with all of them.
