High quality scans
The scanner was easy to setup and install, but I do have other Epson scanners.
The D Max of 4.0 and better optics gives markedly better results than the consumer level scanners at the same resolution.
The software is a little quirky, requiring some effort to retain preferences, but works well, And Digital Ice is great for old images.
The 35mm slide and film holders are a little fiddly, but work well enough. An extra set of film holders would significantly speed workflow.
Bottom line - my other scanners are gathering dust.

I am very Pleased with the performance of this scanner
I purchased the V700 Scanner to digitise all of my film and slide collection, It performed extremely well, was easy to use and produced the best results I have achieved yet. This is after previously using a few different models and brands offering similar functions. An added benefit of the V700 is once you have finished with the bulk of film and slide scanning you still have an excellent flatbed scanner that you would not have if you use a film only scanner.
My only criticism is it only caters for professional positive and negative film formats and not the most common (in the world) format, My wifes 1970's 110 Kodak Instamatic family snapshots for example. Fortunately because of the flatbed nature of the scanner I was able to machine up some aluminum film guides to take this and another common format, other than that it's very good.

Epson Perfection V700 Photo
I have used Epson Scanners and Printers ever since I had a Computer and they are Excellent for a person who want's to have Professional work. I always use Epson Products as they are the best and are very user friendly.
