Excellent picture quality but lacks versatility
Epson has done some great things with this projector. A 1080p projector with good upscaling technology and can be used in all types of rooms due the Wireless HDMI feature making set up a breeze. The light output is phenomenal, the picture can easily be seen in the middle of the day with the blinds open. At night in THX mode, the picture for a Blu Ray movie is outstanding. Deep blacks and vibrant colour.
That being said, there are a few problems. The upscaling technology "super resolution" leaves behind a ghosting effect during fast action scenes, luckily when watching Blu Rays, the picture quality is already good enough to not need the Super Resolution function. Next is the input lag time. You need to turn off all image enhancing functions in order for the projector to be at all usable for gaming. Once all these functions are off, you can easily play competitive first person shooters but the image looks horrible. The projector is also very noisy so you'll want to put it as far away from your seating position as possible. Mine is about 2m behind my couches and during suspenseful silent scenes I can easily hear the whir of the fan.
Finally, one of the best features of Epson projectors has been split screen where you can watch two separate inputs simultaneously. This is a perfect use for a projector given the large screen, however although it states on this website that the EH-TW9200W has split screen, I can tell you now that it does not and this has been confirmed subsequently by Epson, much to my displeasure. Instead it has been replaced by a pitiful Picture in Picture function that on my 150" screen creates a small over layed 20" image at best. It's turned my favourite function of my previous Epson projector into a useless one.
All in all, this is a fantastic projector for watching Blu Rays and broadcasted 1080p content, however for free to air SD television and gaming it leaves a lot to be desired. I guess that is the point of a home theatre projector, I just wish I could use it for more than Blu Ray movies.

More than impressive
The project deliveries more than impressive picture quality, exceptionally good bright, vivid colour presentations. With easy to set up with up to 7 HDMI inputs, various connections, stunning 3D performance, and comfy 3d goggles, last, not least THX certificated project and the dammed-cool wireless transmitter, I am extremely pleasant with this purchase!!
