Australian Consumer Law Prescribed Statement
Our Products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (“ACL”). You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the Products repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Introduction
This Express Warranty is in addition to other rights or remedies that You may have under the ACL in relation to your Product.

Definitions

In this warranty:

  1. "ACL" means the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and Regulations.
  2. "Consumables" include (without limitation) ink cartridges, cleaning cartridges, ink cleaner, waste ink bottles, recycling tanks, flushing pads, air filters, Fabric Wiper unit, centre roll mount, cleaning wipes, head wipers, cleaning sticks, pump cap assembly, paper feed rollers, and any items included in Epson Maintenance kits.
  3. "End User" means the first purchaser of a Product from a Stockist.
  4. "Epson Australia" means Epson Australia Pty Ltd ABN 91 002 625 783.
  5. "Genuine" means manufactured by or for a member of the Seiko-Epson group of companies.
  6. "Installation Date" means the date of installation of a Product at the premises of an End User by a Service Agent.
  7. "Life Expectancy" means the estimated proper period of normal operation of a Part.
  8. "Onsite" means at your business premises in Australia.
  9. "Part" means any spare part or other component that forms a part of the Product and which may be replaced from time to time.
  10. "Factory Second" means a Product expressly sold by Epson Australia as a second (refurbished unit damaged in transit, returned and repaired or ex demo).
  11. "Product" means a Genuine Large Format Solvent Printer supplied new by Epson Australia, being one of the following models:-
    • Epson SureColor SC-S30600
    • Epson SureColor SC-S40600
    • Epson SureColor SC-S50600
    • Epson SureColor SC-S60600
    • Epson SureColor SC-S60660L
    • Epson SureColor SC-S70600
    • Epson SureColor SC-S80600
    • Epson SureColor SC-S80660L
    • Epson SureColor SC-R5000
    • Epson SureColor SC-R5000L
    • Epson SureColor SC-V7000
  12. "Proof of Purchase" means a legible copy of your purchase receipt or invoice for the Product.
  13. "Marketing Initiative" includes any competition or promotion initiated by Epson Australia relating to a Product.
  14. "Purchase Date" means the date of a Product’s first purchase from a Stockist.
  15. "Service Agent" means a person or company authorized by Epson Australia to repair a Product.
  16. “Standard Express Warranty” means the Product warranty described below
  17. "Stockist" means an authorized Epson PRO Graphics signage & décor dealer as listed on www.epson.com.au/prographics/wheretobuy
  18. "Warranty" means the Standard Express Warranty and Epson Preferred Warranty where applicable.
  19. "You" means the End User and "your" has a corresponding meaning.


Express Warranty Terms
Epson Australia offers an Onsite Express Warranty on your Product subject to the following conditions.

Epson Australia warrants that your Product will be free from any defect in materials or workmanship for one (1) year (or, in case of a Factory Second, for six (6) months unless otherwise stated by Epson) for SC-Sxxxxxx model codes and 30 days for SC-Rxxxxx and SC-Vxxx model codes after your Purchase Date extendable up to a maximum of five years. At its discretion, Epson Australia will either repair or replace your Product, if it is found on inspection by Epson or a Service Agent to have any such defect within the relevant Express Warranty period.

A Stockist who sells a Product to You has no authority from Epson Australia to give You any additional Express Warranty or guarantee in relation to your Product or to make any statement (other than what is contained in the Specifications) about:

  1. a Product's performance or fitness for any specific purpose; or
  2. the currency or application of any Marketing Initiative.

Epson Australia will not be liable for any consequential loss or damage claimed to arise from your use of the Product. In particular (but without limitation) Epson Australia will not be liable for actual or expected revenue loss or for any corruption or loss of data claimed to arise from your use of the Product.

This warranty includes all Parts (excluding consumables and Parts that have reached or exceeded their life expectancy as noted below and labour.

At its discretion, Epson Australia will either repair or replace a Product (with a Product to substantially the same or superior Specifications) if it is found, on inspection by Epson or a Service Agent, to have any defect as outlined above. In the event that Epson chooses to replace a Product, only the unexpired balance of the Warranty for the replaced Product will carry over to the replacement Product.

All warranty claims must be approved by Epson before any warranty service work is performed. No such warranty service work can be performed except by a Service Agent.

Repair work under the Standard Express Warranty will be carried out free of charge.

CoverPlus on the Epson SureColor SC-V7000 includes annual on-site maintenance at no additional charge (excluding consumables) for equipment located within the On-Site Service Coverage areas specified below.


Express Warranty Claim Procedure
If You wish to make a claim under this Express Warranty, You must do the following:

  • First call the Stockist from which You purchased your Product to identify and rectify (if possible) any fault.
  • If the fault cannot be identified and rectified as above, You should call Epson Australia on 1300 361 054 for the location of your nearest Service Agent and then provide that Service Agent with satisfactory proof of your Purchase Date, to show that this Express Warranty applies to your Product at the date of your claim
  • If your Product is located within an 80-kilometre radius of a Service Agent You will be entitled to receive Onsite Express Warranty service.
  • If your Product is located outside this radius, You must, either bear the cost and risk of having your Product delivered to and returned from a Service Agent for Express Warranty service, or pay the Service Agent’s reasonable travel and accommodation costs to provide You with Onsite Express Warranty service
  • If a Service Agent provides Onsite Express Warranty service but finds that any fault is not directly related to a breach of this Express Warranty, You must pay its current service fee and its reasonable travel and accommodation costs on a return basis (if applicable) to provide You with Onsite Express Warranty service.

Express Warranty Application
This Warranty applies only:

  1. You purchase Product from Epson Australia or an authorised Stockist;
  2. You use the Product for your own business purposes;
  3. You operate the Product at its original Location at the time of installation, in a suitable environment, in a suitable environment, in compliance with the Product's environmental requirements as specified by Epson Australia;
  4. You use only Genuine Epson Consumable Parts when operating the Product;
  5. You follow the instructions outlined in your user guide for ink loading and usage;
  6. You follow the procedure outlined in your user guide for daily power down and power down prior to an extended period of inactivity;
  7. You follow correct procedures in terms of media loading, platen height setting, temperature setting and output management/ take-up adjustment;
  8. You perform regular maintenance as prescribed in the User Manual;
  9. You make the Product available for service when scheduled or requested by Epson or its Agent. And provide full access to Product, with adequate working space, storage space, and facilities, including heat, light, ventilation, electric current and power outlets.

Express Warranty Exclusions
This Warranty will not apply if any of the following events occurs during the warranty period:

  1. A Product’s serial number or any rating label is removed or changed in anyway;
  2. A Product is serviced, repaired or modified other than by Epson or its authorised Service Agent;
  3. You have installed or used a Product contrary to the technical or operating guidelines recommended in its User guide or Manual;
  4. A component Part of your Product has reached or exceeded its Life Expectancy;
  5. A fault occurs in any parts, materials or Products not supplied by Epson;
  6. Any fault or damage caused by using non Genuine ink/fluid cartridges for the Product, or any ink delivery system other than the Genuine ink delivery system built into the Product;
  7. Any fault or damage due to the quality of media used, including (but without limitation);
     
    1. damage to the Product's print head caused by media imperfections such as variations in thickness;
    2. improper storage of media before use in the Product; or
    3. improper installation or setting of media in the Product.

  8. Any fault or damage caused by third-party software, applications, parts, components or peripheral devices not provided by or approved for use by Epson Australia with the Product;
  9. Any fault or damage due to using filters, solvents, or other supplies not recommended in the Specifications;
  10. Any fault or damage caused by neglecting or improperly performing user level maintenance as prescribed in the User Manual;
  11. Any fault or damage caused by misuse, abuse, improper installation, neglect, fire, flood, lightning, electrical surges or incorrect currents, disasters or acts of God;
  12. Any colour change or fading of printed output;
  13. Any fault or damage caused by the use of non-recommended materials, tools, liquids or fluids when performing user maintenance;
  14. Any fault or damage from your failure to procure, install, or have maintenance performed on Product or items not covered by this Warranty and on all non-Epson communications media and peripherals including without limitation transmission lines, networks, telephone, and telegraph equipment for the remote transmission of data;
  15. Any fault or damage arising from operator error;
  16. Any operator supplies or accessories, paint, or refinishing of the Equipment;
  17. Any electrical or mechanical work not related to Product maintenance, or any, installation, removal of accessories, attachments, or other devices not supplied by Epson Australia;
  18. Any alteration to the configuration of the Product not authorised by Epson Australia or a Stockist.
  19. 19. A Product's malfunction or failure to perform to Specifications results from:
     
    1. deliberate or accidental damage including damage in transit, by insects/pests, through liquid spillage, or through any other improper use or mishandling by the End User; or
    2. modification;
    3. any form of computer virus; or
    4. any parts require repair or replacement as a result of normal wear and tear, corrosion or stain.

  20. Epson is prevented from performing repair due to inadequate access or failure to register Product (where applicable) under Epson Cloud Solution PORT and make it addressable from the internet, etc.



Spare Parts & Consumable Warranty
For Australia, our Products and Spare Parts come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (“ACL”). You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the Products repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

    Spare Parts under $500 - (excluding GST):
  • Whether provided during an Express Warranty repair, under Epson CoverPlus, or bought outside of warranty, these parts have a 90-day warranty or the remainder of the Product's Express Warranty or Epson CoverPlus, whichever is longer.

  • Spare Parts over $500 - (excluding GST):
  • If provided free during an Express Warranty repair or under Epson CoverPlus, these Parts carry a 90-day warranty or the remainder of the Product's Express Warranty or Epson CoverPlus, whichever is longer.
  • If purchased outside of Express Warranty or Epson CoverPlus, these Parts have a 12-month warranty.
The Spare Parts warranty will apply provided the following conditions are met:

  1. They are purchased and installed by an Epson authorised Service Agent
  2. The Product's Spare Parts are fitted to meets the standard Warranty terms and conditions available from Epson’s website
  3. They are purchased and installed by an Epson authorised Service Agent
  4. You use only Genuine Epson Consumables purchased from an Epson authorised reseller (for items that use Consumables)
  5. At the time of installation of the purchased Spare Parts your Product was not more than five years old from the date of purchase, otherwise the period of warranty will be 90 days.


Consumables
Consumables by their nature have a finite life. The Epson warranty against defects in workmanship or materials is for the lesser of a period of 90 days or the rated life of the Consumable as described in the user’s guide or service manual.

In the case of Lamps for projectors, some Lamps carry a specific Express Warranty for a specific period and this is detailed under our standard product warranty terms and conditions where applicable.



Non-Genuine Items
If You use non-Genuine Consumables, replacement parts, options or accessories in or with your Product during the relevant Express Warranty period, You may damage the Product and may consequently invalidate this Express Warranty and You may incur the cost of return travel, labour and parts for a Service Agent to repair or attempt to repair such damage.

On-Site Service Coverage
Epson Australia Pty Limited will perform Onsite Express Warranty repair work within an 80 kilometre radius from its nearest service centre, in the following areas; Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong, Canberra, Melbourne, Hobart, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

Standard Service Response Rate
Epson Australia will use its best efforts to achieve an eight (8) working hour response time, being either by phone or on-site visit, on normal business days for warranty repair work.

Spare Parts
Spare parts other than Print Heads provided as a result of a repair of your Product under warranty or Epson CoverPlus or purchased by You outside of warranty are provided with an Express Warranty under the same terms and conditions of the Express Warranty for the Product in which they are installed and are covered for a period of 90 days or the remaining Express Warranty or remaining Epson CoverPlus period, whichever is longer and subject to being installed by an Epson Authorised Service Agent.

In the case of Print Heads that are provided free of charge under warranty or Epson CoverPlus as a result of a repair of your Product are provided with an Express Warranty under the same terms and conditions of the Express Warranty for the Product in which they are installed and are covered for a period of 90 days or the remaining Express Warranty or remaining CoverPlus period, whichever is longer and subject to being installed by an Epson Authorised Service Agent.

In the case of Print Heads that are purchased by You for the purpose of a repair of your Product they are provided with an Express Warranty under the same terms and conditions of the Express Warranty for the Product in which they are installed and are covered for a period of 12 months (SC-Sxxxxx models) or 1 month (SC-Rxxxxx & SC-Vxxxx models) or the remaining Express Warranty or remaining CoverPlus period, whichever is longer and subject to the following conditions:

  • They are installed by an Epson Authorised Service Agent
  • They are purchased from either an Epson Authorised Spare Parts Distributor or an Epson Authorised Service Agent
  • You use only Genuine Epson Ink purchased from an Epson Authorised Reseller
  • At the time of installation of the purchased print head your Product was not more than 5 years old from the date of purchase
