PROJECT DESCRIPTION |

The brief for this project was to create a 30 metre canvas to be used as a stage backdrop and to display i-mag and graphics for a 3 day conference. To cover a screen of this scale we used six EBG 7905 UNL projectors edge blended together to create an image 11,520px x 1080 px in size. The setup included: Ross Graphite, Ross Carbonite, and Ross Solo switchers using their multi-screen functions to drive i-mag, scripture, and lyrics on the centre and sides of screens across projector blend zones. Custom control macros on the Carbonites were triggered from an MA2 lighting console using Arduino. We also used 2 media servers running Media Master, one to run video and graphics, and one to run alphas for i-mag to cut through. |

PROJECT DESCRIPTION |

Edge blending projector technology has now been around for quite some time. This sees two projectors being mounted side by side to create one large image. Recently with Epson release of the ultra short throw (UST) lens in their G-Series large venue projectors, which allows projectors to be mounted as close as 1m away from the screen and still be able to produce a large 120" image, the edge blended technology has been employed to create large 3m plus wide images with the projectors mounted extremely close to the screen. This was the challenge Concord School faced. As there was limited space to mount projectors, the G-Series with the UST lens mounted 1.5m away from wall was a perfect solution. By using 2 x Epson EB-G6350 7,000 Ansi Lumens Projectors, an extremely bright 3m wide x 2m high image was achieved. |

PROJECT DESCRIPTION |

Hume City Council required a replacement for an ageing XGA projector displaying digital signage on a 125" screen running 8 hours per day, 7 days per week. The projector was located in a sunny north-facing walkway on the northern side of the Hume Global Learning Centre in Broadmeadows, which among many other functions houses both the library, council chambers and sees a great deal of foot traffic daily. A proposal including a total cost of Ownership (TCO) for each projector calculating power consumption, maintenance and consumables was submitted comparing two laser/led alternatives to the Epson LCD projector. As the council already has a comprehensive AV maintenance contract in place, routine filter cleaning was not an issue. The Epson proposal was far cheaper than the alternative technologies when run 8 hours per day 7 days per week. An increase in brightness from 4,500 to 7,000 lumens also resulted in a much improved image that was commented on by public and staff alike. |

PROJECT DESCRIPTION |

The existing old and dark drama space (used commonly to host events for the school, the parish, overseas visitors and the local community) was transformed into a new multifunctional performance space that features operational functionality specifically programmed to allow children from as young as the Prep level to operate the system competently. A 180" motorised 16:9 Grandview screen equipped with an accompanying Epson EB-G6250W projector with a ELPLU01 short throw lens for shadow reduction was selected to power the visual component of the system design. Multiple connections including VGA, XLR for audio and HDMI were strategically placed across the front, rear and sides of the stage for ease of access from any location across the main stage. A custom-fitted Lectrum lectern was installed along with a mobile custom iPad control system in an Adtec security enclosure, granting a global command of all audio and visual components including projector, audio, Blu Ray player, Foxtel and over 20 different lighting presets (designed to meet a variety of different filming and stage scenes). The iPad control system was configured on its own wireless network, separate from the school's universal network removing the possibility of network interferences and security breaches. In addition, 8 Shure wireless microphones (3x lapel and 5x handheld), 2x Australian Monitor MX883 analogue stereo mixers for audio control were fitted off in an 18RU mobile rack. |

PROJECT DESCRIPTION |

PowerCor required a complete refurbishment of some ground floor meeting rooms at their Melbourne Head Office. DIB had previously completed an upgrade of the audio visual systems in their boardrooms, so they approached DIB to design, supply, & install a system for their ground floor meeting rooms. 7x Epson MeetingMate EB-1430Wi's were chosen as they had previously installed a few Epson EB-1430Wi projectors into some other locations & were so happy with the technology, they decided these needed to be installed into all of the larger meeting rooms as well. These meeting rooms have the ability to be used as individual spaces or opened up into one large space when required for company meetings & functions. For this solution DIB also installed an Epson EB-G6770WU large venue projector with an ELPLS07 standard throw lens onto a 130" screen. The image displayed onto the 130" screen can also be displayed onto the MeetingMate projectors at the same time, allowing everyone in the room a clear view of what is being displayed. For simplicity, PowerCor chose to use the supplied Epson Control Pad for each of the MeetingMate projectors, & a 3rd party control system was installed for operation of the system when used in "combined mode" with the EB-G series projector. |

The first showing, Inner Beat: Projected, is a collaborative public art project that explores the construction of complex identities of young African emerging artists from Melbourne's West. https://www.artscentremelbourne.com.au/whats-on/free-low-cost/inner-beat-projected The content is played by a media player and transported to the projector via HDBaseT. The variable lens options allow us to change the projection size easily. |
