PROJECT DESCRIPTION |

The technology challenge for konnectus at the "Speculate" event at Vivid Sydney in 2015 was twofold. Firstly, it was necessary to enable the participants to collaborate digitally in a simple, and effective way. The second goal was to enable the seated audience of approximately 150 people to clearly follow the digital collaboration between participants as well as their live discussion. Three collaboration tables, each seating three participants, were set up in the centre of the room. On each table we provided an Epson interactive projector and a laptop PC. The participants were able to collaborate together on different architectural drawings and use the simple, yet powerful, annotation tools of the Epson product to develop concepts and designs in a fluid way. Each table was also provided a wireless microphone to assist with live discussion. Two other participants were seated on the stage and instead of drawing in a digital environment, their hand concept sketches were captured live on camera. A team of two central facilitators managed the interaction between the various participants. One roamed the floor and prompted discussion. The other used a powerful collaboration software, Mersive Solstice, from a central PC to control the display of media onto two large projection screens. The Solstice software tied the whole event together. On the large projection screens, members of the audience were able to see: the live video content from all of the 3 x interactive tables, the live camera feed of the hand drawn sketches, additional support digital media such as drawings, photos, presentations, 3D modelling from a CAD draftsperson in the room, and videos. |

PROJECT DESCRIPTION |
|
PowerCor required a complete refurbishment of some ground floor meeting rooms at their Melbourne Head Office. DIB had previously completed an upgrade of the audio visual systems in their boardrooms, so they approached DIB to design, supply, & install a system for their ground floor meeting rooms. 7x Epson MeetingMate EB-1430Wi's were chosen as they had previously installed a few Epson EB-1430Wi projectors into some other locations & were so happy with the technology, they decided these needed to be installed into all of the larger meeting rooms as well. These meeting rooms have the ability to be used as individual spaces or opened up into one large space when required for company meetings & functions. For this solution DIB also installed an Epson EB-G6770WU large venue projector with an ELPLS07 standard throw lens onto a 130" screen. The image displayed onto the 130" screen can also be displayed onto the MeetingMate projectors at the same time, allowing everyone in the room a clear view of what is being displayed. For simplicity, PowerCor chose to use the supplied Epson Control Pad for each of the MeetingMate projectors and a third party control system was installed for operation of the system when used in "combined mode" with the EB-G series projector. |
