PROJECT DESCRIPTION |

The technology challenge for konnectus at the "Speculate" event at Vivid Sydney in 2015 was twofold. Firstly, it was necessary to enable the participants to collaborate digitally in a simple, and effective way. The second goal was to enable the seated audience of approximately 150 people to clearly follow the digital collaboration between participants as well as their live discussion. Three collaboration tables, each seating three participants, were set up in the centre of the room. On each table we provided an Epson interactive projector and a laptop PC. The participants were able to collaborate together on different architectural drawings and use the simple, yet powerful, annotation tools of the Epson product to develop concepts and designs in a fluid way. Each table was also provided a wireless microphone to assist with live discussion. Two other participants were seated on the stage and instead of drawing in a digital environment, their hand concept sketches were captured live on camera. A team of two central facilitators managed the interaction between the various participants. One roamed the floor and prompted discussion. The other used a powerful collaboration software, Mersive Solstice, from a central PC to control the display of media onto two large projection screens. The Solstice software tied the whole event together. On the large projection screens, members of the audience were able to see: the live video content from all of the 3 x interactive tables, the live camera feed of the hand drawn sketches, additional support digital media such as drawings, photos, presentations, 3D modelling from a CAD draftsperson in the room, and videos. |

PROJECT DESCRIPTION |

PowerCor required a complete refurbishment of some ground floor meeting rooms at their Melbourne Head Office. DIB had previously completed an upgrade of the audio visual systems in their boardrooms, so they approached DIB to design, supply, & install a system for their ground floor meeting rooms. 7x Epson MeetingMate EB-1430Wi's were chosen as they had previously installed a few Epson EB-1430Wi projectors into some other locations & were so happy with the technology, they decided these needed to be installed into all of the larger meeting rooms as well. These meeting rooms have the ability to be used as individual spaces or opened up into one large space when required for company meetings & functions. For this solution DIB also installed an Epson EB-G6770WU large venue projector with an ELPLS07 standard throw lens onto a 130" screen. The image displayed onto the 130" screen can also be displayed onto the MeetingMate projectors at the same time, allowing everyone in the room a clear view of what is being displayed. For simplicity, PowerCor chose to use the supplied Epson Control Pad for each of the MeetingMate projectors, and a third party control system was installed for operation of the system when used in "combined mode" with the EB-G series projector. |

The Aquinas middle years construction was a project comprising of 22 learning spaces, 8 breakout spaces, digital signage and a 150 seat lecture theatre. The function of the theatre was to provide a versatile lecture and performance space. Working to a budget we were able to deliver a powerful, versatile AV system featuring an Epson Z series HD projector, dual Crestron touch panel control at the FOH and rear bio box locations, multiple floor box AV connectivity options, 8 x 8 Crestron video matrix to manage multiple FOH and rack video sources. In performance mode the venue has a 16 channel microphone system mixed through a state of the art digital desk presenting to a powerful Turbosuund speaker package GT Innovations was tasked with the supply and installation of large custom made white board panels to act as white board, projector screen and as an architectural feature. Within these spaces Epson interactive projector solutions were installed with JED controllers to manage the 100V audio system and resident and local PC video sources. 6 X 55" commercial LCD panels were positioned in open learning areas as presentation systems which can double as digital signage when the learning spaces are not utilised.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION |

Collaboration and student engagement are both important factors in the classroom. This was a key factor that staff wanted when considering upgrading AV technology at their Junior Campus. Staff from Caulfield Grammar visited DIB's Showroom to explore and evaluate different technology for the Junior Classrooms, which allowed them to have a hands-on experience with different technologies. After an in-depth consultation with staff, the new Epson MeetingMate series interactive projectors was shortlisted, with the EB-1430Wi model selected to be best for the AV installation. In this model, the Whiteboard Mode is particularly useful in creating a collaborative environment. This allows devices to add content directly to the whiteboard via multiple devices. For example, this means a student could answer a maths questions directly from their portable device. Along with the Epson EB-1430Wi interactive projector, an Extron control panel was installed for simple, easy-to-use operation for staff. Also integrated into the AV installation was Apple TV, creating a seamless way to mirror Apple devices through the main projected display. Inputs such as HDMI and VGA for staff laptop or tablet devices were installed in the most suitable location for easy access. Training of new AV technology is also a strong point of DIB Audio Visual and is offered with each AV installation. Not only does Caulfield Grammar have the latest in projector technology with Epson's EB-1430Wi interactive projector, but they will have the relevant training for staff to be confident in using this new technology into the future. |
