St Patrick's Church is a heritage building and the challenge was to propose an AV system taking into consideration the high ceiling, the throw distance of 25metres, retaining the same heritage overlay and working with a tight budget. Epson EB-Z8355W with its high brightness large installation projector system was proposed and installed at the back of the Church's balcony in an enclosure. The system comprised of a purpose-built box to conceal the motorised screen (at the front of the chapel) when not in use, an audio system consisting of powered speakers and amplifiers and Creston Control System. The system delivered as promised on-time and stayed within budget. |

PROJECT DESCRIPTION |

Orchard Grove Primary School is high-achieving, medium-sized government school located in the leafy suburb of Blackburn, in Melbourne's eastern suburbs. When OGPS were looking at upgrading the AV system in their GYM, they contacted DIB to assist with the design and installation of a system suitable for their needs. Having already provided AV installs for many different areas across the school, they were able to put their trust in our Solutions Consultant, Gabi, to work with them to create a system that would be simple-to-use and also serve the needs of the intended user group. Particular consideration was given to the ambient light within the space and size of image for the audience. An Epson Z series projector was chosen (EB-Z10000U), with a very bright 10,000 lumens. This was mounted securely in a cage to give robust protection to the projector. To provide a large viewing area for presentations, a Grandview Motorised projection screen was installed, with a massive 180 inch projection area. |

This new facility at Korowa was carefully designed and closely consulted with the staff at Korowa. A hidden approach to the AV system was taken, whereby the system would be minimally noticed (hidden) when not in use, but be impressive and powerful when required. For the main display, the Epson Z series projector (model EB-Z10000U), with a powerful 10,000 lumens of brightness and Full-HD resolution was selected and partnered with an impressive 150-inch Grandview Skyshow motorised screen. The screen was carefully recessed into the wooden timber in the ceiling of the chapel and then mechanically lowers out of the ceiling into the optimum viewing position when required. To supply a minimalistic, yet powerful sound experience, the Bose Panaray series speakers coupled with a BOSE professional power amplifier and Bose Panaray subwoofer were installed to deliver high quality sound throughout the chapel. The subwoofer location was carefully planned and hidden beneath stairs at the front of the space. The Extron control system could also be mirrored with an iPad, allowing the flexibility to control the AV system from anywhere in the chapel. The result is a very simple to use interface for a relatively advanced AV system. This project has given Korowa an excellent facility with a simplified AV system, providing a quality sound and vision experience for all events, both now and into the future. |

PROJECT DESCRIPTION |

The Resurrection Catholic Parish Community has recently chosen to upgrade their church in order for members of their congregation to be able to more easily participate in worship. In particular they wanted to do away with hymn books and project the words on a screen for parishioners to easily read. They also wanted to be able to share photos and images with their community. The space inside the church presented certain challenges. The unique octagonal structure combined with high ceilings made it awkward to install audio-visual equipment. It was also important to respect the floor as a place of worship and the church wanted to ensure that any equipment that was installed would not interfere with the natural light that fills the environment and keeps it feeling warm and welcoming. Finally, the congregation sits in a circular pattern and it was important that every member could see the screens clearly. An initial plan to use LCD screens was eventually shelved in favour of projection screens in order to get the largest possible projection area for parishioners to be able to read the hymn lyrics. In order to get the level of brightness that was needed it was essential to get hold of the latest 10,000 lumen projectors. This level of technology also provides strong-future proofing as today's advanced models have real longevity. The church also has an adjacent hall in which they wanted to display the hymns and images and they decided to use the ESPON EB-Z8000WU which is a stunningly high quality projection model. When used in concert with the EPSON EB-Z10000 the images are amazingly clear even in the large space that they are employed in. Resurrection Church's committee said that they were very pleased with the use of the space (the projectors are nearly invisible when not in use), and one of the key factors that enabled their decision was being able to have a demonstration of the projector in the space that it would be used in. This gave them confidence that it was up to the task and that no parishioner would be struggling to join their voice with others'. |
